Developing World-Class Players

In 2007, U.S. Soccer launched the Development Academy (DA), which focuses on more high-quality training and meaningful competition for our nation's most talented young players. Today, 92% of player call-ups to U.S. Youth National Team Camps are directly from the Academy.

Make Your Impact

We've come a long way, but there are still important challenges to tackle as we match international standards for youth development and strive to produce world-class players. Your gift today can:

1. Provide need-based scholarships for talented young players to train and compete in the Development Academy

Great talent comes from all areas and backgrounds. Since 2008, the U.S. Soccer Scholarship Program has contributed nearly $4.2 million in need-based financial aid to support more than 3,000 of our nation's most talented young players.

U.S. Soccer is committed to quadrupling the scholarship program in order to break down economic barriers and erode the pay-to-play model at the highest level of domestic youth soccer.

2. Invest in the infrastructure of our country's highest-performing youth clubs

In 2015, U.S. Soccer embarked on a comprehensive study of individual DA clubs, led by a Belgium consultancy firm specializing in technical audits of the best academies in the world. The initial results have demonstrated that our most elite youth clubs lack the facilities, manpower and resources to perform at international standards. With your support, U.S. Soccer will partner with clubs to tackle their most pressing needs and improve the everyday playing environment.
